Firstly, what is a Pluto Square Pluto Transit?
Basically it’s when Pluto is 90 degrees from where it was when you were born. This creates a square angle and in Astrology these are potent angles - from a natal transit point of view, they can mark key milestones in your life.
How do I find when I have my Pluto Square Pluto Transit?
The earliest you can have it is 36 and the latest is 60 - thanks to Pluto’s irregular orbit, the time can vary. Most often it’s around age 40. If you are about 40 now, you’ll have it coming up - check if your Pluto is in the early degrees of Scorpio (1-3 degrees) and it will be soon! (Born 1983 to 1985).
Here’s How:
Pull up your Birth Chart on Astro.com, and check your Natal Pluto position. Then click the ‘add Transits’ button (adds the green symbols on the outside) and check where Pluto is at the moment (a ‘P’- like symbol in green) and check how many degrees it’s moved since you were born (inner circle in black).
Here you can see I’ve highlighted my natal Pluto in Black at 29 degrees Libra. By working round to where it is now- the green on the outside are the transits, you can see that as of April 2023 (the date in red), Pluto has been dancing around 29 degrees Capricorn which is 90 degrees away from 29 Libra - my natal position, forming a square.
Here is what The Pattern App says to introduce your Pluto Square:
“During this once-in-a-lifetime cycle, it could feel like you’re being taken into unknown territory. Illogical or even irrational events and experiences could affect you and shake your sense of control.
Or instead of external events, it might be an internal transformation that’s taking place. It could feel like your deepest fears are being realised or that drastic changes are occurring.
Although this time may seem uncomfortable, it’s meant to be an initiation that will ultimately transform you.”
Midlife Crisis?
Pluto transits demand growth or risk stagnation, often manifesting as a midlife crisis that disrupts our sense of personal power. This period forces us to face hidden fears and past wounds. As our old structures crumble, we must draw on our inner strength and resilience to reinvent ourselves. Each generation undergoes this transformative experience, and now it’s our turn.
Rebuilding from Within
Pluto initiates chaos to clear the way for new growth. This “midlife crisis” can lead to either breakdown or breakthrough, uncovering previously hidden agendas. While the process may feel painful, it ultimately empowers us to redefine our identity and assert our place in life. Embracing this journey is essential for renewal and transformation.
Discovering Authentic Power
During this transit, we learn that true peace originates from within, rather than from external accomplishments or relationships. We’re challenged to make important decisions that support our evolution and growth. Courage and confidence become essential as we realise that surrendering to the process ultimately results in deeper understanding and fulfilment.
Pluto teaches valuable lessons about power and the pitfalls of an ego-driven existence. This transit reconnects us with our spiritual heritage and limitless potential, often through disruptive experiences that guide us back to our true path. Acceptance is crucial; resisting life only invites more struggle. Embracing freedom cultivates joy, peace, and wisdom, transforming our experiences into reflections of our inner selves.
